Agape refers to selfless, sacrificial love that prioritizes the well-being of others without demand for return.
Context
Within the Yeshuan Model, agape is the primary evidence of alignment with the Spirit of Christ. It replaces fear and conformity as the central marker of spiritual maturity. Agape is not sentimental affection. It is consistent orientation toward the good of another, even amid disagreement.
Because reconciliation is understood as complete, agape does not function as a means of securing favor with God. It functions as participation in divine life.
Implications
Agape shifts spiritual evaluation away from doctrinal precision and toward relational conduct. It cannot be legislated. It must be freely chosen.
This emphasis also supports the redirection of religious resources toward humanitarian care and education.
Common Misunderstanding
Agape is sometimes confused with permissiveness. It does not eliminate moral discernment. It eliminates coercion and condemnation as primary tools.
